One of Riley’s canines fell out while we were playing tug-of-war this morning before heading off to work. He was actually trying to swallow it when it was hanging off his gum, but it managed to end up on the floor. It’s cool to see his new canine erupting through the gum layer though.
Well, I noticed Riley has two teeth crowding a few days ago, but today is the first he will let me take a look at them. I took two pictures to send to his breeder in Ontario and to our vet. At first, being a first-time puppy owner under 8 months, there were concerns since I didn’t see this at the airport 2 weeks ago when I checked his gums.
I apologize for the grainy photos, these were taken with a 2MP cameraphone under low lighting after the sun has already set. I tried using the Canon PowerShot, but he wouldn’t stay still long enough for a decent shot.
The vet texted back and asked to check if the enlonged tooth was loose, and indeed it was. It’s one of Riley’s remaining puppy teeth, and it’s due to fall out anytime soon. What a relief. No wonder why puppies are such power chewers.
